This cookie policy has the specific purpose of illustrating the types, the modalities of use as well as to provide indications about the actions to refuse or delete cookies on the website, if desired.

What are cookies?

Cookies are short fragments of text (letters and/or numbers) that allow the web server to store on the client (browser) information to be reused during the same visit to the site (session cookie) or later, even at a distance of days (persistent cookies). Cookies are stored, according to the preferences of the user, from single browser on the specific device used (computer, tablet, smartphones).

Similar technologies such as web beacons, transparent GIF and all forms of local storage introduced with HTML5, can be used to collect information on the user’s behavior and on the use of the services.

In the remainder of this document, we will refer to cookies and to all similar technologies simply by using the term "cookie".

Types of cookies

On the basis of the characteristics and the use of cookies, we can distinguish different categories:

Strictly necessary cookies. These cookies are indispensable for the proper functioning of the site and they are used to manage the login and access to reserved functions of the site. The duration of cookies is strictly limited to session work (after closing the browser, they are erased).

Technical cookies. Technical cookies are those used only in order “to carry out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary to the supplier of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to deliver this service" (from art. 122, paragraph 1 of the Code). They are not used for other or more purposes and they are normally installed directly by the owner or operator of the web site. They can be divided into browser cookies or session cookies, which guarantee the normal navigation and use of the web site (allowing, for instance, make a purchase or authenticate to access to reserved areas); analytics cookies, assimilated to technical cookies, where used directly by the operator of the site to gather information in aggregate form, on the number of users and how these may visit the website itself; features cookies, that allow the user to navigate as a function of a number of selected criteria (for example, the language, the selected products for purchase) in order to improve the service rendered to the user himself.

Profiling Cookies. Profiling cookies are aimed at creating profiles relative to the user and they are used in order to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user himself within the navigation in the network. Because of the particular invasiveness that such devices may have in the private sphere of the users, the European as well as the Italian legislation foresees that the user should be adequately informed about the use of them and thus express their valid consent (source: Privacy Authority). The site does not use this type of cookies.

Third party Cookies

When visiting a website, you can get cookies from both the visited site ("Owners cookies"), both from the sites managed by other organizations ("Third Party cookies"). A striking example is represented by the presence of "social plugin" for Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn. These are parts of the page you visited directly generated from these sites and integrated into the page of the host site. The most common use of social plugin is finalized to the sharing of content on social networks.

The presence of these plugins involves the transmission of cookies from and toward all the sites managed by third parties. The management of the information gathered from "third party" is governed by the relevant information, to which please refer to. To ensure more transparency and convenience, here below you can find the website addresses of the various information and of the procedures for the handling of cookies.
